“He just sits in his room playing videogames all day. He’s clearly depressed but he won’t go to therapy.”
I hear this quite often. Heck, I’ve been there myself. Does it sound like someone you know? This model is aimed at supporting people who may not be interested in supporting their mental health, even we think they really need it. So why not invite them down to enjoy some fun, telling epic tales with new friends?
Roll for Growth uses collaborative storytelling as a form of social & emotional learning, as well as a fun and interactive form of talk therapy.
With the use of tabletop role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons, The Star Wars RPG, Masks, Critical Core, No Thank You, Evil! and Monsterhearts, I, and the groups I work with, can create characters and entire worlds with which we can undertake a healing adventure.
These sessions can be entirely tailored for participants’ needs! From basic social skills and emotional awareness lessons, to mental health supports against depression and anxiety, Roll for Growth is a new, playful and engaging style of therapy which has participants eagerly awaiting the next session.
Reach out via the Contacts page to find a group near you! Groups are currently running in Joondalup, Midland and Online!
Let’s make something together.
